Update

Haven't had much to write about lately mostly due to the fact that I have been so busy my brain is just a jumbled mess. There has been alot going on with us lately as with everybody else I'm sure preparing for the holidays.

Here a a few random thoughts running through my head lately...

1. Planning and wondering about the daycare Christmas party. So far up to 15 kids, 4 sets of parents and 2 grandparents. We plan on decorating cookies, making a craft, pizza party, sledding, treats and being wild...I'm sure. It's on the 23rd and then I have two weeks off, sure I will appreciate after that.

2. I'm not so much into the whole "Christmas Spirit" this year. Not sure why but I'm not. We just got our tree up and decorated and put up the lights outside. I'm almost done shopping, have yet to wrap a gift and have yet to bake a single batch of cookies. Though I did make 2 batches of fudge with my daycare kid if that counts.

3. Scott got a new job which we are very thankful for. he's working custodial for the Pinckney school district. Not his dream job but the best he could find right now. he works 2pm to 11pm though so it's sort of tough not having him home at night. Gotta do what you gotta do though.

4. I adopted a family for Christmas. two boys 2 and 11. They had no clothes so I bought a bunch of outfits for them, socks, shoes, winter coat and some toys. I am glad I am in a spot where we are not suffering and I can help someone else out. I hope more people out there learn to do the same by donating to people in need.

5. I have had the flu twice in one month already. The flu-flu and then the stomach flu. next year I am getting a flu shot...for sure this time ( i say this ever year).

6. I hope we will be able to afford to go to Florida this year in April. I miss my friends.

7. People have been annoying me lately, won't name any names. Don't know if it's because I have been sick, lack of sleep and the fact that I don't get a sick day even when I'm puking my guts out all day long.

8. I am addicted to hot tea. Like every winter. I have every flavor imaginable so if your in the mood for tea and chit chat come on over. Or for beer and chit chat I'd be up for that too :)

9. I hope to have more to blog about someday, I'm sure you are all very bored by now.

When I come up with something more interesting i will be back! Enjoy preparing for the holidays!

Happy Thanksgiving and needing your prayers

Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy the holiday with your family and friends. I am thankful for everything I have been given, a loving husband, an awesome family and the best friends!

Please keep our family in your prayers. Last night we found out that our little cousin on Scott's side had been diagnosed with MSUD which is a rare metabolic disorder. She is in Intensive Care at Mott's Children Hospital.
Maple Syrup Urine Disease (MSUD) is a disorder in the body’s ability to use three of the essential amino acids in protein. These three essential amino acids—leucine, isoleucine and valine—are often called the branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs).

This disease can cause many complications in children such as mental retardation, coma, and even death.

Please pray that the doctors will help educate the family in preventing these complications. Please pray that Skylar's body will respond to the treatments and that will close monitoring she will be able to live a wonderful normal life.
WE LOVE YOU SKYLAR!!!!!! YOU ARE IN ALL OF OUR PRAYERS!!!!!

Photoshop Fun

Two Christmases ago I recieved Photoshop as a gift from my wonderful husband........who knows how much I hate computers, trying new programs, and working with photos. Don't get me wrong, I love love love to take pictures. I hate hate hate working on computers. So after two years of " This program sucks" and " Photoshop is impossible" and a few unmentionable phrases I have finally learned to do something! Thanks to my cafemom Editing Group! This is the only thing I know how to do, but it's my favorite! And my subjects were just too cute! ENJOY!

I know it's been forever!

I know I haven't blogged in forever. really I have had nothing to blog about. Here are a few pictures from the last few weeks. I am going to try to keep this updated a little better from now on. Hopefully.

Busy Weekend!

We had a very busy weekend abd had a lot of fun!

On Friday we had Jenna's 16th birthday party at our house. The girls had fun playing American Idol on the Wii, going in the hot tub, watching scary movies and of course texting the boys!
On Saturday morning we went to BounceU in Brighton for Rhia's 7th Birthday party. She had almost her whole 2nd grade class there. The kids had a blast.

On Saturday afternoon Stef and I went to Jen's baby shower. She is expecting a little girl named Kaida. She got lots of cute baby things. It was nice seeing people I haven't seen in a really long time!

On Saturday late afternoon Stef and I went to BWW to watch the Michigan/Michigan State game. We did have fun even though UofM dissapointed us once again.

Saturday night we went to Steve and Samantha's Halloween Party. And yes I am dressed up, I'm a Michigan Fan haha.

We also got to visit with Shawn while he was up from Florida for the night before staying with his sister. We miss this guy so it's always nice to see him, he's awesome!

Well that about sums it up. Sunday we layed on the couch all day and watched movies and took a nap.

Weekend.....and a few signs I am getting old.

So I haven't had much to "blog" about lately so here's just a little recap of how my weekend went!

On Friday night Scott was working and then hanging out with one of his friends so my best friend Dana and i planned on having a much needed girls night out. We decided to go out for a few drinks at a few local bars. We headed out about 8pm ( first sign of old age) and went to bar #1 at which we had one beer and left because the service was bad and the band was too loud(sign 2). Went to bar #2 had one beer and left because we were looking for something " more exciting" (sign 3). Went to bar #3, ran into two people from our past...way past....decided to stay there because it was late night happy hour. That consisted of half off appetizers of chicken quesadillas and potatoe skins (sign 4). Took our food home and hung out with Dana's 16 old daughter and her friend and talked about our old teachers from high school (sign 5).

After all of Friday night's excitement we thought we would "sleep in" on Saturday morning which meant forcing ourselves to stay in bed until 9 am (sign 6). By noon that day I had already filled up my car with gas, went to the bank, went grocery shopping, made a crock pot full of chili and made a fall centerpiece for my dining room table ( sign 7-11).

saturday night we had friends over for dinner, chili and apple crisp, then bundled ourselves up and headed to the terrofied forest. We FROZE in line for about 2 hours with aching feet and frozen toes (sign 12) chose hot choclate and popcorn over beer ( sign 13) and made it through the terrofied forest and haunted manor just after midnight. We were all so tired ( sign 14) that we headed our seperate ways to go home to bed. While I was de-thawing in the bubble bath (sign 15) Scott drove down the road to pick up some abandoned corn stalks for me to decorate the outside of the house. crazy I know, abandoned stalks, who does that, well that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Scott decided it was better that paying the $3 for them at the pumpkin patch (sign 16).

Sunday we spent time with my cousins dawn and matt and little jarrett. Our fun time consisted of doing some yard work at the front of our sub (sign 17). We moved a bunch of little trees around, some bushes, did some transplanting, lots of digging, raking, trimming and so on. After that i was sore and tired (sign 18) so after putting up the corn stalks around my house we decided to go get gas/car wash/sunday paper (sign 18). We drove all around Howell trying to find a Sunoco so we could use our gas card and "save money" (sign 19). After that we came home, ate lunch and took an afternoon nap (sign 20). That night I clipped coupons (sign 21) and went grocery shopping. We went out to dinner at Bennigans because we had a 50% off coupon (sign 22) so I felt it was okay to order the steak dinner and even a mini dessert ( sign 23) at 10pm which did not settle to well right before going to bed ( yes.. sign 24).

So this morning I woke up sore from shoveling, tired from my so exciting weekend, and with an upset stomach from pigging out too late the night before ( sign 25-27).

And since I am almost 29 I will give you two more signs that I am getting old:
#28~ I frequently catch myself saying the following statement " Kids now a days......."
#29~ I just wrote this sitting indian style at my counter and now my feet are asleep but my hip hurts too bad to get out of this position!

Have a great day and thanks for reading!

Thanks Stef!

I want to share with you something that was written about me on someone's blog. It was very nice and it's not everyday people care enough to actually tell you these things and share them with the world. I appreciated it so much! Thank you very much Stephanie!!!

Here's from Stef's blog....writing about "special people" in her life:

Sara McQuade, I just met this amazing person nearly two years ago when Jason and I started Dating. Since I have known her, she has shown me the kindness no one else has. We have so much fun together, and hanging out. I have never met a couple like Sara and Scott McQuade. I wish I would have known them as long as Jason has. Sara is one of those people who God puts on Earth to show the world what kindness and caring is. But she also has a Dark side too which I wish I was a brave as she is. I admire her. She can be a real bitch when she needs to be and that is AWESOME! She sees things for how they really are and will call you out on it, and that is wonderful. I wish I had the balls that she has. She is so strong, and is amazing with kids. I hope that one day her wish come true, that she too has kids. She is the kind of girl that knows what she wants, and works her ass off to get it. That is true Woman Power! I wish I could be like her in every way. Sara has done so much for me and my family, I honestly dont know what I would have done without her, and I dont know what I could do for her in return, other than show her the same kindness she has shown me. Some people would say that she is the real modern day Martha Stewart. Sara knows how to have a good time, and will always tag you along for the ride. Sara, thank you so much for all that you do, you are amazing, and dont ever change!

No I haven't dissapeared!

Just been busy lately. With what? Nothing really just the normal day to day things! I've also been sick, some nasty little cold bug that seems to be getting everyone around here!

Works going better. I had two new little girls start this week. They are almost 2 and 4. Great kids, just a big change from having only boys around. Time to dig out the babies and dollhouses from storage I guess! I have also been taking care of a friends baby this week. She's 7 months old and such a cutie pie. I plan on taking some fall photos of her for her mom this week, I'll post some if I actually get to it :)

Last weekend we had a busy weekend. We went to Kaylee's 7th bday party at Spicer's Orchard. Afterwards we had Scott's family over and some friends for our annual German Dinner night. It was alot of fun.Friday we went to jason's hockey game, which we hadn't been to one in over a year...sorry jay! That was good to watch them play and they have gotten alot better to.

This weekend I have to shop for two birthdays and a baby shower. I love shopping for baby showers though I must admit it's getting to the point where it's a little depressing. Someday I'll be shopping for my own kid....hopefully someday.

well that's about it for now. I'll try to get to posting about something more fun this week, maybe some pictures or something a little less boring!

LilyBean

So last week Lily came over to play. This is the first time I have seen her since her accident. She was the little girl I previously posted about that fell out of a second story window. She's doing well with just a broken leg. I think she just looks so darn cute in her little purple cast!

She crawls all over dragging her little leg, she sits and lifts it up probably wondering why her leg is so heavy now, she can stand and walk around furniture too. I bet she's walking as soon as that cast comes off. The doctors said about 3 more weeks.

She is just the sweetest little girl ever! I am glad she's ok. God was with her that terrible afternoon that's for sure!

Move That Bus!!!!!!!

On Friday October 3rd Scott and I hung out in Holt Michigan for the day to see the filming of Extreme Home Makeover. We took a shuttle there early in the morning and hung out there all day. It was awesome, to say the least. We got to see all the design team, volunteers, builders and the family. The home went to a mom and her 3 boys who lost there father earlier this year to hepatitis C. The show will air in November, look for the Nickells Family.

The beautiful new home which replaced a 150 year old farm house.

" Let's move in some furniture!" See the design team in there?

Me at the site with my sign......hoping to get on tv!

Lucky Me!

Knock on wood......BUT I have to say I have been lucky lately! It started last week and if you know me well then you know things usually do not go my way! Well last week I got a new car. One that I spotted on the internet and was suprised to actually get the one I had my heart set on! Then I won $30.00 playing Keno at the Pub. After that I told Scott "i am lucky lately" so I bought a scratch off ticket for $1.00 and won $20.00!

Well by good luck continues..... Last night I took my phone in to the verizon store because it was having problems. Actually it was my second new phone which I got in return for the first new phone that had problems( see i told you about my bad luck usually)!

Well the phone dork at Verizon told me he could do some software updates but that would cost me $$$$ and he wasn't sure it would fix the problem. I told him I didn't want the same phone or same model. So after clicking away for about 20 minutes on his computer he finally tells me I am up for an annual $100.00 credit towards a new phone.

SO I browse around the store to look for a phone, okay really I have had a phone in mind since it came out late July :) I show the guy the phone, he says ok and goes in the back. He comes out and tells me that this phone has a $50.00 rebate right now. Sweet!

He tranfers everything off my old phone and starts ringing me up. Then as he is looking at my account he asks me if I know I am a VIP member now. I laugh and say of course! No really I ask and what does that mean? Well since I pay all my bills on time.....spend so much money .......blah blah blah......I get $50.00 off on any phone and 25% off accesories!

Well so I got a $289.00 phone for way less than that :)

So here's my new phone...

I think it's pretty sweet. Let's just hope my lucky streak continues!
