Dandelion Fun

I did this activity with my daycare kids. They love to pick dandelions. This kept them busy for a good hour at least.

~ Collect a lot of dandelions.....

~ Using your fingernail peel the stem into a couple of pieces. The kids had fun seeing how many little strips they could peel the stem into. My three and four year old could do this by themselves. Leave them stem attached though.

~ Put into cold water. i used a shallow plastic plate. Works in a bucket, pool, anything as long as it is cold water.

~ Watch as the stems curl up. The longer you leave them in the water the curlier they get!

~ Kids thought this was SO COOL!!!!

Water Dog

We had so much rain and snow this year that our neighbor's pond behind our house flooded onto our property. Now we have a little pond of our own. It's actually pretty deep in spots so I'm hoping we will have it for awhile before it dries up. I'm half tempted to keep filling it up with a hose lol.

The kids love the pond. They throw rocks in it, find worms in it, wade around in it and visit the ducks and geese.

Today we took Bella for her first swim of the year. She had a blast! She's definately a water dog and I would rather her swim in the pond instead of our pool because of all of her hair.

Here's our new pond!!!!!

Bella playing with her water ball she got for Christmas. It's a cage ball that she loves but this one has something in the middle that makes it float.

See it's pretty deep for being just a part of our yard earlier this year!

Bella's having so much fun.

I thought this picture was so funny. Reed and Bella in action, except the ball and Bella are going in opposite directions haha.

I still have a few more posts I'm working on and should get done with this weekend. We've been pretty busy around here having my family in last weekend, Mother's Day brunch and getting ready for our garage sale.

Tennesse Trip Take 1

We left on Saturday April 25th and drove down to gatlinburg TN with 6 of us squished into the truck...including two kids. The ride was fine, long, but the kids were good.

Here's where we stayed...Bluegreen Resort. This is the view from one of the decks.

We spent alot of our time in the Smoky Mountian National Park. Here's our friends Jason and Stephanie.

Our other friends Marie and Brandon and their daughter Kaylee. This was by Cade's Cove where we grilled out for dinner. This picnic spot was awesome with the river running right through it.

View from one of the pools where we also spent alot of time swimming with the three kids and getting a good tan....i mean burn.

There were some huge wildfires in the area the whole time we were there. You can see the smoke coming off the mountain.
More on the next post.....maybe tomorrow!

The last month....

Okay so I haven't blogged since April 10th. I had a week without internet......and very stressful week where I didn't feel like blogging or talking for that matter.......... and then we were on vacation for a week.

We just got back from a week in Gatlinburg Tennessee. It was Scott and I second time there, we went for our honeymoon in 2006. We went with friends of ours. We had a blast. Here's a picture to tide you over until I get another post up. It's late and I'm exhausted. I PROMISE to put another post up.....really I do. Also I did not forget about the "ghost" post...it's in the works :)
